Looking for a flexible nursing role in a supportive and welcoming environment? We’re on the lookout for a Casual Practice Nurse to join our friendly team in the Grampians region.

About Us

Budja Budja Aboriginal Cooperative is a proud Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO), founded by CEO and Elder Tim Chatfield. From our clinics in Halls Gap and Ararat, we provide culturally safe, holistic and person-centred care to local Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities across the Grampians region. Our services include primary health care, general practice, community health and Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB), which supports mental health, AOD services, families and cultural connection. As the only Aboriginal-led health service in the region, Budja Budja is committed to strengthening culture, health and wellbeing through care that honours community and connection.

About the Role

This is a great opportunity for a nurse who’s passionate about primary health and preventative care. You’ll be working closely with GPs, Aboriginal Health Workers, and the wider health team to support the community with a mix of clinical work and health promotion activities. Across two modern clinics, located in Halls Gap and Ararat, Budja Budja strives to provide optimal care to local Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities, visitors and tourists to Gariwerd, and residents of surrounding communities.

Your day might include:

  • Health checks and screenings
  • Immunisations, wound care, venepuncture, iron infusions, spirometry
  • Supporting chronic disease management
  • Helping with community health programs and education
  • Building great relationships with clients and colleagues

What We’re Looking For

We’re after someone who is:

  • Friendly, professional and reliable
  • A team player with great communication skills
  • Passionate about making a positive impact in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health
  • Registered with AHPRA as a Registered or Enrolled Nurse
  • Comfortable in a flexible, community-focused role
  • Able to work at both Halls Gap and Ararat locations
  • Able to obtain a Working with Children’s Check and National Police Clearance

Previous experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health or primary care is a bonus – but if you’re keen to learn and have the right attitude, we’d love to hear from you.
