Budja Budja Aboriginal Cooperative Ltd was established in March 1999 and has been in operation for over 25 years.
It was established to service the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community across Ararat Rural City and Northern Grampians Shire.

It commenced operation as a Community Meeting Place in Halls Gap in an 80-year-old re-modelled Holiday House
It has gradually increased its infrastructure and services as government recurrent and capital grants has allowed.

Over time, BBAC has undertaken a major extension to its Halls Gap Clinic and established a Mobile Clinic Van, both around 2017, it opened its SEWB Wellness Centre with seven professional staff in August 2023 and the first stage of its second Medical Clinic at Ararat on 1st November 2023.
Both the Ararat clinic and the SEWB Centre received funding through the Victorian government’s ACIP program and have also been an outstanding success with great community participation and outcomes.
All clinics provide Medicare Bulk Billing to patients for eligible services.

All of these have been established through comprehensive Community Consultation processes and feedback as to needs.
