Overview
The Youth and Family Worker is responsible for actively engaging our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth to lead a healthy and fulfilling life through individual support, cultural and wellbeing group programs, and advocacy. It is a whole-of-family service for young people (up to 18 years) and their families experiencing or at risk of experiencing vulnerability.
The role is based at both Halls Gap and Ararat, with regular travel between both sites as required by service needs.
About you
You will have knowledge and understanding of youth issues, wellbeing and kinship issues, demonstrated experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities; and the ability to form and maintain professional, nurturing relationships with young people and their families.
Qualifications in Youth Work/Community Service or a willingness to undertake study in youth work is essential.
