Ochre Ribbon Week Community Event

February 17 @ 11:30 am - 2:00 pm
Free

Budja Budja invites community to come together during Ochre Ribbon Week.

Date: Tuesday 17 February 2026
Time: 11:30 am – 2:00 pm
Location: Budja Budja, Halls Gap

Ochre Ribbon Week is held each February to raise awareness about the impact of family and domestic violence on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

This event provides a space for community to connect, reflect, and support one another while promoting safety, respect and self-determination.

On the day, participants are invited to enjoy a free lunch, hear from a guest speaker and take part in a creative activity.

Community members will have the opportunity to paint an ochre pot and plant a flower to take home or gift, as a symbol of care, awareness, and support.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

We would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of this Country, the Djab Wurrung and Jarwadjali people, who have lived on these traditional lands and cared for Gariwerd (Grampians) country over thousands of years. We acknowledge Gariwerd is a special, spiritual place for Aboriginal people, for dreaming stories and the abundance of food, water and shelter it provides. We acknowledge Djab Wurrung and Jarwadjali continued living culture and we give respect to Elders, past and present.
